Our job as Physical Educators is to teach students how to live an healthy active lifestyle. We teach students in a variety of ways from doing exercises, stretches, health lessons and a variety of games. We also teach a sport based program, which means we try to teach all of the sports we can with the focus being on the basics. Some examples include basketball, soccer, gymnastics, football, jump rope, and this year we are trying tennis.

I grew up in Richardson, TX and graduated from Berkner High School in 1994. I was very active in the sport of gymnastics and eventually transitioned into coaching gymnastic for RGT. I attended the University of North Texas where I received a Bachelors of Science degree in Kinesiology with a teaching certification. I was very fortunate to get a job working at Walker Elementary in 2000 when the school first opened. I got married to my wonderful wife Christy in 2006. I have 3 kids: a boy named Trace born in 2006 but joined our family in 2014, 2 girls named Josephine born in 2008 and Samantha born in 2010. I am truly blessed to have a job that I enjoy going to everyday and teaching something that I am passionate about.

After grauduating from Kaufman High School, I attended Trinity Valley Community College on a competitive Cheerleading scholarship. We became 2 time NCA National Champions and the 1st Jr. College to ever win a national championship. After leaving TVCC I attended Stephen F. Austin State University (SFA) where I received a Bachelor of Science in Kinesiology and a Masters of Education in Kinesiology along with my 3rd NCA National Championship. This was the 1st National Title in school history. Once I earned my undergraduate degree I became the head cheer coach at SFA. While under my supervision, the SFA cheer team earned two 3rd place rankings and their 2nd National Championship, bringing my total to 4. During my graduate work I also competed in the 1st NCA All Star open division where I won my 5th National Championship. I’ve been coaching and working with kids for over 20 years and in October 2012 will be inducted, along with my team, into the Trinity Valley Community College Athletic Hall of Fame.
